Roya and Bahman are endearing and their romance carries fragrance of blossoming jasmines. ![]() They meet after sixty years to resolve their tangled past and a love they could never recover from. The two are set to unite when the revolution breaks out and forces them to pursue different paths in different continents. The youthful Bahman is finding balance between romancing his dreams of revolutionising his country and romancing Roya. Roya and Bahman fall in love under the watchful eyes of Mr. Bahman shares Roya’s passion for Persian poetry and especially Rumi. It is in this very stationery shop that Roya comes across Bahman. ![]() Apart from the writing pads, fountain pens, inks, pencils and sharpeners what fascinates Roya are the translations of authors from all over the world. Set in 1953, The Stationery Shop of Tehran revolves around the seventeen years old Roya who loves to read and spends a lot of time at the stationery shop owned by Mr. And I am glad to say that unlike the two previous books which I read, were such disappointing reads that I did not even review them, this did not disappoint me.
